Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a celebration of life, death, and family that is typically celebrated in Mexico and other parts of Latin America. Shayna and Kathy are joined by Jose, a Mexican American mental health therapist, and Yessica, a Mexican American student intern studying to become a mental health therapist, as they discuss this holiday.

MSW Inten
Hi, my name is Yessica! I am currently an MSW student at the University of South Florida, set to graduate in Spring 2025. I've been an intern at my agency for about 10 months now, and it has been a wonderful experience where I’ve gained a lot of knowledge and skills. As a Mexican American, the Day of the Dead holds special significance for me; it’s a beautiful celebration of the lives of those who have passed on. I cherish this cultural tradition deeply.
